Publication Ethics
INTERES: Journal of Interdisciplinary and Integrated Research
INTERES is committed to maintaining scientific integrity and quality in every published article. We uphold publication ethics standards and adopt guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in the journal publishing process—authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers—are required to adhere to the following ethical principles:
1. Ethics for Authors
-
Originality and Authenticity: Authors must submit original work that has not been previously published or is not under consideration elsewhere.
-
Plagiarism: All forms of plagiarism, including partial or full copying of content without proper citation, are considered serious violations.
-
Proper Citation: Authors must acknowledge all sources used in their writing by providing citations and references according to scientific standards.
-
Authorship: Only individuals who have made significant contributions to the research and writing process are eligible to be listed as authors.
-
Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that may affect the results or interpretation of the research.
-
Revisions and Corrections: If substantial errors are discovered after publication, authors are obliged to inform the editor promptly for correction or retraction.
2. Ethics for Editors
-
Fairness and Objectivity: Editors assess manuscripts based on scientific merit and relevance, without discrimination based on personal background.
-
Confidentiality: Editors must maintain the confidentiality of all manuscript-related information during the evaluation process.
-
Publication Decisions: Decisions to accept or reject articles are based on content validity, contribution to scientific knowledge, and journal scope.
-
Handling Conflicts of Interest: Editors must not use unpublished manuscript information for personal gain without written consent from the author.
3. Ethics for Reviewers
-
Scientific Contribution: Reviewers assist editors in making decisions and provide constructive feedback to help improve the quality of manuscripts.
-
Confidentiality: Reviewed manuscripts must be kept confidential and not shared or discussed with others.
-
Objectivity: Reviews must be conducted objectively and professionally, supported with clear arguments.
-
Plagiarism and Reference Identification: Reviewers should be alert to similarities with other publications and recommend additional citations if necessary.
-
Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must decline review assignments if there is a conflict of interest with the author(s) or affiliated institutions.
4. Handling Ethical Violations
In cases of suspected ethical violations (e.g., plagiarism, data manipulation, duplicate publication), the editorial board will:
-
Conduct an internal review and request clarification from the author(s).
-
If proven, reject the manuscript or retract the published article.
-
Issue an official notification to the author(s) and their affiliated institution.
INTERES: Journal of Interdisciplinary and Integrated Research expects all parties involved to uphold these ethical standards to ensure the credibility and integrity of scientific publications.
